National Army ends security campaign in Northern Aleppo

On Monday, the National Army of the Free Syrian Army announced the end of its security campaign in the cities and towns of Northern Aleppo, Northern Syria.

Youssef al-Hamoud, the National Army spokesperson, reported that the campaign has succeeded, all wanted people surrendered to the military police and court, and the National Army will support civil and military institutions in the area to prevent unregulated use of weapons.

Al-Hamoud hopes that the campaign will have a positive social, economic and political impact on Aleppo.

Al-Hamoud added that they arrested more than 150 people in the Northern Aleppo countryside, and they are still searching for 15 people in hiding.

Al-Hamoud also said that the National Army obtained information saying that the al-Sharqiyah Martyrs commander is in the city of Idlib, but no information about who is hiding him has been reported yet. Al-Hamoud added that the military general attorney will continue to look for the commander in Idlib.

The National Army ended its security campaign against separatist factions in the cities of al-Bab, Jarabulus, and al-Ra'i. The campaign started in the city of Afrin on Nov. 18, 2018, against the al-Sharqiah Martyrs faction. The campaign, which killed more than 16 fighters and injured 15 others, ended when the al-Sharqiyah Martyrs faction commander escaped to Idlib and his fighters' families escaped to the Jindayris area.
