Hama - SMART

On Thursday, Syrian government forces shelled villages and towns of Northern Hama, Central Syria, from their nearby bases.

Local activists reported that the Syrian government forces stationed at the Zlin checkpoint targeted the vicinity and center of the al-Lataminah city using heavy machine guns and artillery shells, causing material damage.

The activists added that the Syrian government forces stationed in the town of Karnaz and al-Hamamiyat checkpoint shelled the villages of Tal al-Sakhr and al-Jiysat. The Syrian government forces also targeted farmland in the city of Mourek from their bases in Tal Bazam using heavy machine guns, causing only material damage.

Earlier, the Syrian government forces also shelled the village of al-Arbaeen and the southern outskirts of the al-Zakat village from their headquarters in the village of Shaliyut, without causing any injuries.

The Syrian government forces continue to shell villages and towns northwest of Hama, although it is included with Idlib in the ceasefire agreement and the establishment of a demilitarized zone reached by Turkey and Russia in September.
