Idlib – SMART

On Saturday, the Free Idlib Educational Directorate announced extending the closure of the schools of the village of al-Tah in Southern Idlib, Northern Syria, due to frequent Syrian government shelling on the village.

Mustafa al-Haj Ali, the head of media office at the Educational Directorate, reported that they extended the closure for two more days to protect the students and teachers from the Syrian government military campaign on the towns and villages of the Southern Idlib countryside.

Ali added that the schools of al-Mahaba, al-Walid, Shuhada al-Tah, girls’ high school, and schools in farmlands surrounding al-Tah have remained closed since Saturday.

In the last few days, the Syrian government forces intensively shelled towns and villages in Southern Idlib, forcing hundreds of families to evacuate, although the area is part of the Turkish-Russian demilitarization agreement.
