Turkey - SMART

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) reports that 18 key infrastructure facilities were attacked in Syria in November 2018, most of them by the Syrian government.

The SNHR is a non-governmental and non-partisan organization, founded in June 2011, that monitors the Syrian Civil War. It is committed to all international criteria and declarations. SNHR aims to document human rights violations in Syria and to defend Syrian human rights in front of international forums and bodies

In a report published on Wednesday, the SNHR said that the Syrian government forces targeted seven key infrastructure facilities. The Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, International Coalition against the Islamic State and Kurdish Autonomous Administration forces each attacked one key infrastructure facility, and unknown parties performed eight attacks.

The SNHR documented 554 attacks on key infrastructure facilities, most of them by Syrian government forces, between January and December 2018.

The SNHR stated that the most significant facilities that were targeted include schools, refugee camps, medical facilities, mosques and Civil Defense centers.

In November, the SNHR issued several human rights reports documenting the violations and abuses committed by all military parties operating in Syria. The reports include one documenting the killing of 231 civilians, another documenting 529 arbitrary arrests, and a report on the killing and wounding of eight journalists.
