Syria - SMART

On Thursday, the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) documented eight massacres in Syria in November. The massacres killed 86 civilians, including 51 children and 19 women.

The SNHR is a non-governmental and non-partisan organization, founded in June 2011, that monitors the Syrian Civil War. It is committed to all international criteria and declarations. SNHR aims to document human rights violations in Syria and to defend Syrian human rights in front of international forums and bodies.

The SNHR published a report saying that the Syrian government forces committed a massacre in the town of Jarjanaz in Southern Idlib, killing seven children and two women. The report added that an Islamic State (IS) landmine explosion killed five children from the same family in the village of Tal al-Hawa in Northern Aleppo, Northern Syria.

The report added that the International Coalition against the IS committed six massacres in the city of Hajin in Eastern Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria, killing 73 civilians, including 29 children and 17 women.

The SNHR published several human rights reports documenting violations committed by all military sides in Syria in November 2018. One of the reports documented the killing of 231 civilians, another report documented the arbitrary arrest of 529 people, and a third report documented the killing and injuring of eight media activists.
