Hama - SMART

On Thursday, the Free Syrian Army (FSA) killed ten members of the Syrian government forces and its militias and injured others in clashes as they were trying to advance in the city of al-Lataminah, 24 kilometers north of Hama, Central Syria.

The media office director of the FSA’s Jaysh al-Ezza, Abdul Razzaq Hussein, reported that the Jaysh al-Ezza killed ten members of the Syrian government forces and its militias and injured others while they were trying to advance in the al-Maasara landmark near the city of al-Lataminah.

Hussein added that Iranian militias and others of the Lebanese Hezbollah militia joined the Syrian government forces to advance to the landmark before the Jaysh al-Ezza managed to regain control of it.

The source denounced the silence of the nearby Turkish observation bases and that they did not take any action against the attack, despite the repeated Syrian government violations of the Russian-Turkish agreement to establish a demilitarized zone.

In the last few weeks, the Syrian government forces have repeatedly tried to infiltrate FSA and Islamist battalion-controlled areas in Northern Hama, after the implementation of the Turkish-Russian agreement. The agreement led to the establishment of a demilitarized zone and a ceasefire, where military operations often killed and injured members on both sides.
