Hama - SMART

On Thursday, the al-Izzah Army of the Free Syrian Army repelled a Syrian government forces’ infiltration attempt near the city of al-Lataminah,24 kilometers north of Hama, Northern Syria.

Abdulrazak al-Hussein, the manager of the media office in the al-Izzah Army, stated that they repelled a Syrian government forces’ attempt to advance near the al-Ma’sara outpost, southern al-Lataminah. Al-Hussein noted that their fighters regained control of the outpost after the Syrian government’ advance attempt.

The infiltration attempt coincided with a Syrian government forces’ shelling on cities and towns in the Northern Hama countryside.

A local activist reported that the Syrian government forces stationed in the city of Souran and checkpoints of Zalin, al-Masasinah, and al-Zalaqiyat shelled the perimeter and central al-Lataminah using mortar missiles, heavy machine guns, and rockets.

The activists added that the Syrian government forces stationed in the city of Souran and checkpoint of the al-Masasinah shelled the villages of Ma’arkaba and Lahaya. A Syrian government forces’ shelling hit the town of Hasraya and village of Abu Ru’ayda.

The Syrian government forces continue to shell villages and towns in Northwestern Hama despite the area and the Idlib governorate are included in the demilitarized zone agreement that Russia and Turkey reached in September 2018.
