Demonstrators call up Turkey and FSA to expel SDF from villages in Northern Aleppo

On Friday, hundreds of people demonstrated in the city of Azaz,43 kilometers north of Aleppo, Northern Syria, calling upon the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Turkey to expel the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from villages and towns.

The SDF are mainly comprised of the Kurdish People's Protection Units in addition to Arab, Turkmen, and Assyrian/Syriac military factions. The SDF is supported by the United States-backed International Coalition against the Islamic State and fought them in al-Raqqa, Deir al-Zor, Aleppo, and al-Hasakah in Northeastern Syria.

Four hundred demonstrators participated in the demonstration, raising the flags of Turkey and the Syrian Revolution and signs demanding to restore the SDF controlled villages and towns, and other signs emphasizing the Syrian Revolution will continue.

Nouri al-Sayed Ali, the manager of the educational compound in Azaz said that they demonstrated to call upon the FSA and Turkey to regain control SDF controlled areas so that forcibly displaced people can return to their houses. The demonstrators expressed thanks to Turkey for supporting FSA controlled areas.

A resident from the SDF controlled city of Tal-Rif’at said that they demand the SDF leave their city so that its residents can return to their houses following three years of displacement.

Frequent demonstrations took place in FSA controlled areas in Northern Aleppo. The demonstrators call upon the FSA to regain control of the SDF controlled areas, amid threats of a military operation against the SDF.
