Aleppo - SMART

On Saturday, Turkey sent a military convoy to western Aleppo, Northern Syria.

Activists reported that the convoy, which included military vehicles and equipment, exited from the Jindayris area in northern Aleppo and headed for the al-Ghazawiah crossing near the Hayat Tahir al-Sham (HTS)-controlled village of Deir Samaan. The HTS gained control of Deir Samaan after clashes with the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

Youssef al-Haoud, the official spokesperson of the Turkish-backed National Army of the FSA, reported to SMART that the convey aims to reinforce two military bases near the al-Sheikh Barakat mountain and the Mount Simeon Citadel.

Earlier, Turkey installed new observation bases in the Mount Simeon Citadel and other areas in western Aleppo while sending regular military convoys to the area. Turkey announced installing observation bases and deploying forces in accordance with the ceasefire agreement concluded in the 6th Astana Talks.
