Turkey - SMART

On Sunday, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israeli warplanes launched raids on Iranian warehouses near the international airport in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Netanyahu tweeted that in the past 36 hours, Israeli warplanes targeted an Iranian weapons warehouse near the Damascus International Airport, saying that the Israeli Army attacked  Iranian and Lebanese Hezbollah militia sites "hundreds of times."

Netanyahu said that the number of Israeli ِArmy attacks shows its determination to prevent Iran's presence in Syria, adding they have achieved great success repelling the Iranian militias from Syria.

Netanyahu's statements coincided with the Israeli General Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot's statement that Israel launched thousands of raids on Iranian positions and targets in Syria.

On Friday night, Israeli warplanes bombed the Syrian government forces and Iranian militias in the vicinity of Damascus.

Israel has targeted Syrian government forces and Iranian militia positions several times, whereas Iran has vowed not establish bases inside Syria.
