Afrin, Syria, Mar. 18, 2018. The Free Syrian Army (FSA) gains total control of the city of Afrin, Northern Aleppo, Northern Syria, without any resistance from the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), after the FSA attacked the city from the eastern and western fronts. The FSA fighters captured two YPG fighters, while three FSA fighters were injured during an attempt to disarm landmines that the YPG had planted in the city. The FSA factions have advanced in several locations in the Afrin area during the Olive Branch Operation, gaining total control of the borderline between Turkey and Afrin and the five regions of Bulbol, Rajo, al-Shaykh Hadid, Sharan and Jindayris.
