Nawa, Syria, May 26, 2018. Dozens of opposition military factions merge to form the Rescue Army in the city of Nawa, Northern Daraa, Southern Syria. The factions work in the Daraa and al-Quneitra governorates. This formation followed developments in the area, as the loyalist forces and Russia recently attacked Southern Syria and breached the de-escalation agreement. The Rescue Army promised to protect the principles of the Syrian Revolution and to commit to the political process that will guarantee a diplomatic solution in Syria. The Army also promised to protect citizens and save their rights and dignity. The formation includes the troupes of Ahrar Nawa that includes six factions, Jamil Abu al-Zein that includes seven factions, al-Maghawir al-Khasa (formally Seif al-Janub) that includes four factions, and Abnaa al-Golan that includes 14 factions.
