Afrin, Syria, May 25, 2018. The free police deploys its members in the Afrin city, northwest of Aleppo, Northern Syria. Their duties are to receive the checkpoints and Syrian government buildings from the Free Syrian Army factions and military police, pursue Kurdish People’s Protection Units' cells, and fight drugs. This comes after 620 free police members graduated from a training course held in the Turkish city of Mersin. Dozens of displaced families have recently returned to the city of Afrin, amid the fear of ongoing explosions and landmines that cause killing and injuring of a number of civilians and soldiers.
