Idlib, Syria, July 1, 2018. A fishing boat can be seen on the bank of a lake behind the al-Duwaisat dam as the water level decreases in the al-Duwaisat dam near the town of Darkoush west of Idlib, Northern Syria. The water decrease is due to the lack of rain, which negatively affects agriculture in the area. The Darkoush local administration is forced to ration the water. Agriculture in areas outside Syrian government control suffers from difficulties like the lack of rain, irrigation, marketing, high prices of fuel, and high costs of labor.
