As-Suwayda, Syria, July 25, 2018. Traces of an explosion can be seen as the Islamic State (IS) attacks the city of as-Suwayda, Southern Syria. The attack killed ten people, including civilians at early count. Clashes between IS fighters and the Syrian government forces on the vegetables market, al-Madhnaqa roundabout, and al-Shari’ al-Mehwari area. Explosions were heard during the clashes. The Syrian government forces closed the entrances of as-Suwayda as suicide bombers from IS were blowing themselves up from time to time after residents surrounded them. The attacks coincide with an IS attack against villages in Eastern as-Suwayda, killing and injuring dozens of people.
