Idlib, Syria, Aug. 13, 2018. The museum of Idlib reopens after six years of closure due to the war and unstable situation in the Idlib governorate, Northern Syria. Idlib is home to many historic monuments, including mosques, bridges, and others; however, the Russian-backed Syrian government forces bombed most of the monuments, destroying many of them. Residents, volunteers, and civil groups organized campaigns to rehabilitate the monuments. In the background, ancient figurines are displayed next to a sign saying, "Miscellaneous clay figurines."
