Aleppo, Syria, Dec. 4, 2018. University students raise a sign saying, "They revolted for the sake of our freedom, save the rest of the prisoners," as medical students in the city of Mari in Northern Aleppo, Northern Syria, organize a sit-in to express solidarity with the prisoners in the Syrian government forces' prisons. The Future Doctors Team organized the sit-in to urge the international community to intervene and ensure the release of the prisoners. The Syrian government forces have arrested thousands of Syrians, including women and children, since the start of the Syrian Revolution in 2011. A year ago, Amnesty International published a report titled "Human Slaughterhouse," documenting that the Syrian government executed 11,000 prisoners in the Sednaya Military Prison.
