Idlib, Syria, Dec. 18, 2018. The artist Aziz al-Asmar paints a satirical graffiti in Idlib about the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir's recent visit to Damascus. Analysts and politicians believe the aim of al-Bashir's visit was to establish communication channels between Arab and foreign countries and the Syrian government. Al-Bashir is the first Arab president to meet the Syrian government President Bashar al-Assad since the start of the Syrian Revolution in 2011. He is also the third president in the world to visit Damascus after the Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Raul Khajimba, the president of the Republic of Abkhazia, whose independence the Syrian government recognized in May 2018.
