Suspected Russian airstrikes kill and injure civilians in Idlib, and foreign countries warn against humanitarian disaster in governorate

On Tuesday, suspected Russian intensified airstrikes killed and injured civilians in towns and villages, west of the Idlib governorate, Northern Syria as the Syrian government forces intend to attack Idlib.

The Education Directorate belonging to the Interim Syrian Government suspended school, west of Idlib due to the intensified Russian and Syrian government forces’ airstrikes on the area.

The National Liberation Front said that the intensified Russian and Syrian government forces airstrikes on Idlib come to terrorize civilians.

Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) a killed Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander and fighters in clashes in the Afrin area, north of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

A bomb explosion killed a fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces and injured other fighters on a highway, east of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.

The YPG arrested three shooters after clashing with them in al-Raqqa. The YPG imposed a curfew in the area of the clashes.

International Coalition airstrikes killed five members of the Islamic State  (IS) in the village of al-bu Hassan near the city of Deir ez-Zor, Eastern Syria.  

The Syrian government forces arrested five youths during raids in Deir ez-Zor governorate.

A source from the detainees’ relatives reported that the Military Security Branch belonging to the Syrian government forces raided the city of Sabekhan and village of al-Kashma, east of Deir ez-Zor, and arrested five youths on charges that the youths’ relatives are IS’ members.

The Syrian government forces arrested Ayham al-Jahmani, who is an ex-FSA commander, in the city of Nawa, west of Daraa, Southern Syria, despite al-Jahmani reached a reconciliation with the Syrian government.

Political and international updates:

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Kremlin rejected the Donald Trump's’ warnings for Russia and the Syrian government against launching a potential attack in Idlib, Northern Syria.  

On Monday, Trump warned Assad against a reckless attack in Idlib. Trump added that Russia and Iran would make a big mistake in case they participated in a potential humanitarian disaster in Idlib.

The United States and Germany warned against a humanitarian disaster in the Idlib governorate, Northern Syria, incase the Syrian government forces attacked the governorate.

On Tuesday, Staffan De Mistura, the United Nations Special Envoy to Syria stated that the talks, which are to be held in this month to form a constitutional committee, will mark a genuine moment for a credible political process in Syria.
