Relatives of detainees in Hama Central Prison cancels sit-in; UNICEF investigates killing of 870 children in Syria

Relatives of detainees in the Hama Central Prison, Central Syria, canceled a sit-in in the al-Assi Square to demand the release of the detainees due to the Syrian government security grip in the city streets.
On Friday, eyewitnesses reported that the Syrian government forces and the Shabiha militia were deployed to the al-Assi Square near the governorate council building in the city center and the roads leading to it. Vehicles with heavy machineguns escorted the Syrian government forces members and Shabiha.
Snipers of the Jaysh al-Izzah of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham killed two Syrian government forces members in two operations in Northern Hama, Central Syria.
The Syrian government released 13 former Civil Defense members in the city of Rastan, Northern Homs after two-month detention. The Syrian government forces sent two of the detained Civil Defense members to the military police to send them for conscription. One of the members remains in detention.
In Northern Syria, the media officer to the Sultan Murad Division of the FSA, Farid Dali Omar, has disappeared in the Afrin area near Aleppo, Northern Syria. Dali Omar's bother said that Farid headed for Afrin to video-interview the activist Bilal Saryoul, who was detained and tortured a few days earlier. The family of Omar Dali lost connection with him after he was returning home.
On Friday, an unknown child died in the al-Mohafaza Hospital in the Idlib governorate. The child was beaten on his head causing him internal bleeding that led to his death later. The forensic medicine of the Idlib Health Directorate said that two persons drove the child to the hospital last Tuesday, but they did not enter the hospital.
In Deir al-Zor, looting incident by Syrian government forces members and their militias reappeared in the city of Mayadin. A local source said that five looting incident in five houses in al-Shuhada Street and another incident in the Darbah Street in the al-Katef neighborhood occurred recently.
The people of the town of al-Mansurah near the city of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria, found the dead body of a young man drowned in the Euphrates River. Two local sources reported that the young man fell from a boat when he was crossing between the riverbanks last night. The people found the body on the riverbank near al-Masurah.
The Sports Union of the Autonomous Administration organized a Karate tournament of young women in the city of al-Qamishli, as 58 young women between 10 and 25 years old participated in the tournament.

The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) investigates the killing of 870 children in Syria over the 2018 last nine month.
The UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Geert Cappelaere, said, "Between January and September 2018, the United Nations has verified the killing of 870 children – the highest number ever in the first nine months of any year since the start of the conflict in 2011. These are only verified cases, with actual numbers likely to be much higher."
