People demonstrate against Ahrar al-Sharqiah faction in Afrin; Students protest against Salvation Government decision about universities in Idlib

On Saturday, hundreds of displaced people from Eastern Ghouta of Damascus demonstrated in the city of Afrin near Aleppo, Northern Syria against the violations committed by the Ahrar al-Sharqiah faction of the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

The Jaysh al-Islam and the Jaysh al-Sharqiah announced that they are not responsible for a shooting incident in the al-Vilat neighborhood in Afrin.

In Idlib, students organized two protests in the cities of Maarrat al-Nu'man and Ariha near Idlib, Northern Syria, denouncing the Salivation Government decision to suspend the universities' exams until obtaining licenses from the Government. The Salvation Government operates in the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham-controlled areas.     

The Higher Education Council of the Salvation Government confirmed that it will contain all private universities and institutions in southern Idlib and western Aleppo, Northern Syria.   

Unknown masked persons kidnapped a nurse in the city of Kafr Nubl, southern Idlib, Northern Syria.

Private sources reported to SMART that armed and masked unknown persons stopped the car, driving the nurse Muhannad al-Akel to his work in Maarrat al-Nu'man and informed the driver that al-Akel is wanted. The kidnappers did not clarify the charges of al-Akel or the destination they are taking al-Akel to.   

Sources from the Rukban camp near the Syria-Jordanian border confirmed that Oqba al-Battah, former deputy commander of the Jaysh Maghaqir al-Thawra of the FSA, has disappeared from the area, assuming that he escaped to the Syrian government-controlled areas.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) clashed with local factions in the al-Shahil area, 37 kilometers east of Deir al-Zor, Northeastern Syria for seizing control of the al-Omar oilfield.

The Asayish forces of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration arrested an Asayaish member, accusing him of killing a man from the Albu Khamis tribe near the city of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria, after tension and detentions that occurred earlier in the area.  

Hundreds of Syrian and Iraqi families arrived at the al-Hawl camp, 70 kilometers south of Deir al-Zor, Northeatsern Syria, from the Deir al-Zor governorate, Eastern Syria.

In Southern Syria, the Syrian government forces detained three people in the city of Jasim, 44 kilometers, north of Daraa.

International and political news:

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the Adana agreement concluded between Syria and Turkey in 1998 is still in force, in which the Syrian government agreed to handle several issues regarding Turkey's security.  

At a news conference in Rabat, Lavrov added that he discussed the importance of returning Syria to the Arab League with Tunisian, Moroccan, and Algerian government officials.   

The United States government said that it is considering a plan to keep some of their forces in the al-Tanf base, east of Homs, Central Syria, to counter Iranian activities in the area, despite the decision of the US President Donald Trump to withdraw US forces from Syria.

Houston Court in Texas charged an American citizen of cooperating with the Islamic State. Earlier, the SDF arrested the American citizen in Syria and handed him to US forces, which transported him to the US.
