Local councils appeal to help forcibly displaced people from Hama; Syrian government forces arrest youths in Latakia for compulsory recruitment

On Tuesday, the free Hama governorate council appealed to humanitarian organizations to help 342 displaced families in need of water and bread in camps in Southern Idlib, Northern Syria.

The local council of the Nahiyat Aqerbat in Eastern Hama, Central Syria, appealed to humanitarian organizations to intervene to allow forcibly displaced people (FDP) to enter the al-Raqqa governorate, most of which controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in Northeastern Syria.

On Tuesday, 80 percent of the residents of the village of al-Habit, Southern Idlib in Northern Syria, evacuated the village after hundreds of the Russian and Syrian government forces’ airstrikes and artillery bombings hit the village.

The residents of the city of Afrin in Aleppo, Northern Syria, complained about constant violations committed by an opposition military faction, amid the inability of the security services to hold the faction accountable.

Violent clashes erupted between the SDF and Islamic State in the Hajin area, Eastern Deir ez-Zor, Eastern Syria, as the International Coalition sent military reinforcements to the area.

Residents attempt to light streets in the Daraa al-Balad neighborhoods in Daraa, Southern Syria, amidst the Syrian government’s negligence and inability to provide necessary support to light streets recently included by the reconciliation agreement in Daraa.

The Syrian government forces arrested youths in the city of Latakia, Western Syria, for compulsory recruitment.

A local source reported that members of the Military Security branch belonging to the Syrian government forces arrested youths in streets of Latakia without notes. The source noted that the Syrian government forces send arrested youths to frontlines on the Syrian coast without military training courses.

Political and international updates:

On Tuesday, Turkey sent new military reinforcements to enhance Turkish troops deployed to the Syrian border.

The Turkish news agency Anadolu reported that the reinforcements arrived in the state of Kilis and included soldiers from different units. The Anadolu added that the reinforcements contribute to security measures amidst tension in the Syrian governorate of Idlib, which is opposite of the Turkish border.
