Idlib, Syria, Mar. 6, 2018. The Salvation Government in areas controlled by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) organizes a protest in the city of Idlib, Northern Syria. The protest condemned the fighting between the HTS and the Syrian Liberation Front and called for stopping it directly.
The Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sheikh reported that the Salvation Government is civilian and stands on one level from all factions. He refused to involve the government in negotiations to stop the fighting, but he stressed its support for an initiative that would prevent it. The Syrian government is interested in this fighting, as al-Sheikh described.
The Salvation Government demanded in a statement to stop the fighting, in addition to the exit of all factions of the Free Syrian Army and Islamist battalions from the centers of cities and towns, and neutralize them from fighting in the region. It noted that in cooperation with the people will work to form a local council to manage each city and town.
