Al Hasakah, Syria. The directorates of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration in Al Hasakah, Northeastern Syria, reforest the Mazkaft Dam nature reserve in Al-Qahtaniyah, 91 kilometers northeast of Al Hasakah, with about 12,000 seedlings. The Mazkaft Dam nature reserve faced severing logging by the people who suffered from the fuel crisis in 2012, according to the nature reserve's director, Abdul Rahim. On Jul. 9, 2017, the General Directorate for nature reserves of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration issued decisions to protect the nature reserves in their controlled areas in Al Hasakah, and Under penalty of monetary fine for each violation, and doubled if repeated.
