On Mar. 7, 2018, the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and the Turkish army gain control of the hill of Jendiyris town and several buildings west of the city after clashes with the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG). The military commander in the al-Sham Corps of the FSA reported that the attack began from two directions towards the villages of Arshli And Mohammediyah. He pointed out that the hill is considered one of the most important sites that fortify the YPG.
Since the beginning of the Olive Branch Operation, the FSA factions and the Turkish army have gained control of four centers in the Afrin area, including Bulbul, Raju, Sheikh Hadid and Sharan.
