Idlib, Syria, May 17, 2018. The Free Police in the opposition-controlled areas of Idlib, Northern Syria, establishes checkpoints in the city of Binnish on the first day of Ramadan to prevent overcrowdedness and traffic accidents in the streets. Ibrahim Muhammad Badawi, the head of the Free Police station, said that he ordered the police and opposition factions to secure the city, so that residents can move around in the markets to buy the things they need. Al-Badawi added that the police will check cars for bombs at the checkpoints. In recent weeks, bombs and car explosions have become increasingly common in Idlib, targeting military commanders and fighters of the Free Syrian Army and civilians, killing dozens.
