Daraa, Syria, July 11, 2018. Dozens of forcibly displaced people from the Daraa governorate, Southern Syria protest at the Golan border, near the village of al-Rafeed, south of Quneitra, Southern Syria. The FDP demands international protection. The FDP raised signs that stressed that Israel gave Russia the green light to kill and displace them. The FDP called upon Israel to stop the Russian attack. Representatives of the Ministries of Local Administration and Finance of the Syrian Interim Government, the Daraa Governorate Council, and heads of local councils participated in the protest. Ali al-Salkhadi, the governor of Daraa, said that they were obliged to seek shelter at the ceasefire line on the Israeli border due to the barbaric Russian and Iranian attack. Al-Salkhadi called for the attack to be stopped without further condition. The Russian and Syrian government forces’ military campaign has killed dozens of civilians and displaced tens of thousands towards the Jordanian and Israeli borders. A Free Syrian Army agreement with Russia marked the end of the campaign. The agreement included the Daraa governorate, southern Syria, except for Northeastern Daraa.
