Aleppo, Syria, July 21, 2018. The Military Police opens its first headquarters in the city of Azaz in Aleppo, Northern Syria. Prominent Turkish figures and representatives of the Syrian National Army of the Free Syrian Army attended the opening ceremony. The commander of the Military Police in the city of Azaz and its countryside, Hisham Darbala, said their main mission is to "stand as one between the people and the National Army" and to prevent riots, sabotage and corruption and maintain stability and public security. The police graduated the first groups whose officers underwent training for three months. The training included physical fitness, self-defense, and using weapons.
