Al-Raqqa, Syria, Oct. 4, 2018. Thefts target a jewelry shop, a clothing shops and some houses in the Tal Abyad main street in the city of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria. One of the residents, Abu Malek Kasrat, said that the thefts have increased despite the presence of security forces in the main streets. Abu Malek appealed to the concerned authorities to defeat these thefts. The head of investigations department at the public administration in the al-Raqqa local council, Qais, said, "We are pursuing thefts and working to address them by activating the offices of fighting crime in the city on a large scale." Qais held the forcibly displaced people to the city accountable and accused them of attempting to gain fast earning through the trade of prohibited drugs.
