Aleppo, Syria, Dec. 15, 2018. The police in Atarib in Western Aleppo, Northern Syria, trains female police officers in crime scene investigation. Hanan Orabi, a trainee, said that seven women attended the course after they completed a course on criminal investigations, how to search women and children, and work organization. In recent years, Syrian women have joined local and civil society institutions in the areas outside Syrian government control. Several women formed groups and committees to support other women, while women's offices in local councils organized several events for women.
