Hama, Syria, Jan. 23, 2019. The Russian forces shell the city of Kafr Zayta near Hama, Central Syria, killing a child and injuring two others. The shelling also destroyed residential buildings and shops. One of the city’s residents, Khalid Muhammad Ali, said that the bombing continues to hit the city of Kafr Zayta in front of the nearby Turkish observation bases, which did not take any action against it. The Syrian government continues to shell northern Hama despite the agreement signed between Russia and Turkey on Sept. 17. The agreement included a ceasefire and the establishment of a demilitarized zone, separating the areas controlled by the Free Syrian Army and Islamic battalions in Idlib and northern Hama.
