Aleppo, Syria, Jan. 23, 2019. Members and vehicles of the al-Bab Military Council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) can be seen in the town of al-Arimah in the Manbij area in eastern Aleppo, Northern Syria. A center in the town coordinates the military actions of the SDF, Syrian government forces, and Russian forces. Jamal Abu Jumaa, the commander of the al-Bab Military Council, said that the a-Bab military and civil councils manage the town' affairs and its surrounding villages, while the role of the Russian forces is limited to patrolling the area's perimeter and the frontline with the Free Syrian Army factions. There has been security tension in the area since the United States decided to withdraw its forces from Syria, while Turkey threatens to attack the SDF in Manbij and the area east of the Euphrates River.
