Idlib, Syria, Jan. 27, 2019. The Sons of War Organization cut its support for the only school in the village of Farkaya in southern Idlib, Northern Syria. Hassan Barakat, the school principal, said that the school has about 574 pupils, 30 teachers and administrative staff, and teaches morning classes to pupils from the first to fourth elementary grades, and evening classes to pupils in the fifth elementary grade to the third secondary grade. The Sons of War announced the cut after the Islamist faction Hayat Tahrir al-Sham gained control of areas in the Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama governorates, suspending the work of civil institutions, schools, universities and police stations, and paralyzing traffic.
