Idlib, Syria, Feb. 23, 2020. Russian warplanes bomb a Turkish military convoy while passing by the village of al-Bara in southern Idlib, Northern Syria. Local sources said that the warplanes launched four airstrikes on the convoy; two of the airstrikes were too close. The sources added that after the convoy withdrew from al-Bara, a Russian airstrike hit the location where the convoy stopped before withdrawal. No casualties were reported. In the recent weeks, the Turkish Army sent military convoys to Idlib. The Turkish Army established military posts, most of them near the Aleppo-Latakia M4 and Aleppo-Damascus M5 international highways. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged the Syrian government to withdraw its forces behind Turkish observation posts in Idlib by the end of February.
