Idlib, Syria, May 19, 2020. The Violet Organization for Relief and Development sets up a disinfection booth in the street to the market of the city of Idlib, Northern Syria, as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the area. Mustafa Othman, a nurse of the organization, reported that the booth aims to disinfect bodies pf residents with sterilizers. The booth was installed in the most crowded market in the city as Eid al-Fitr approaches. Earlier, the Assistance Coordination Unit’s Early Warning Alert and Response Network (EWARN), said that the total number of suspected COVID-19 cases in Northwestern Syria reached 559 until May 21, 2020. EWARN added that it has conducted 774 tests so far, but all results showed negative.
