Free Syrian Army gains control over the center of Sharan district in Afrin

On Tuesday, the Free Syrian Army (FSA) gained control over the center of the Sharan district eastern the city of Afrin, which is 42 kilometers northwest of Aleppo, Northern Syria, after fighting with the Kurdish People's Protection Units(YPG).
A military source reported to SMART that the second and third Faction of the Syrian National Army launched an attack on the town, which has led to clashes with the YPG, ended with the withdrawal PF YPG from the town.
The source pointed out that the clashes resulted in the injury ten fighters of the FSA in light wounds, in addition to the capture a member of the YPG.
The FSA also announced in a video recording his control of the villages of Khirbat Sharan and Sankri, which belong to Sharan, Eastern Afrin, after clashes with the YPG.
Sharan is the fourth town controlled by the FSA and the Turkish Army during the military operations in the Afrin area, where they previously gained control over the towns of Bulbol, Rajo, and Shaikh Hadid.
al-Hamzah division announced its capture of another YPG member during its combing operation in the village of Qureiziya, in the area of Jendiris, which is west of the city of Afrin, where it gained control over the town on Monday.
The YPG revealed a record of ten killed, including one of its members, were killed during fightings against the FSA and the Turkish Army in separate days of Jan. and last Feb.
On Jan .21, 2018, the Turkish army and factions of the Free Syrian Army, launched the first ground military offensive in operation called "Olive Branch" in the Afrin area which used to be under the SDF control. They gained control of the entire border with Turkey, in light of the continuing confrontations.
