US troops centralize in Ras al-Ain city to monitor Syrian-Turkish borders
On Wednesday, local sources confirmed to SMART that a US military patrol has centralized in Ras al-Ain city (68 kilometers northwest of al-Hassakeh) in Northeastern Syria, to monitor the Syrian-Turkish borders.
The sources said that US soldiers are centred in the al-Sawame’ (Silos) area of the city, after they informed the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) that they will monitor what they called “Turkish encroachments” and bombings on the area.
On Jan 22 2018, Turkish artillery shelling injured three civilians, including a woman and a child in the Swame’ (Silos) area of Ras al-Ain.
Turkish artillery shellings hit Ras al-Ain frequently, killing and injuring civilians.
