Idlib - SMART
On Thursday, the National Liberation Front issued a decree banning the entry of any military force into the city of Maarrat al-Nu'man, 30 kilometers south of Idlib, Northern Syria, only after coordination with the military council and the security office.
In a statement, the National Front also banned storming houses for any reason only after asking the security office and informing the military council and with committing "public morality."
The statement considered "any individual action as wrong and undesirable action under penalty of responsibility."
The military council, which was formed on May 3, includes the Special Task Force of the Idlib Free Army, the Ansar al-Haq Brigade of the Syrian Liberation Front, the Revolutionary Youth Brigade of the Sukour al-Sham, and the Abdul Rahman Brigade of the Sham Corps.
The National Front, which was formed on May 28, includes most of the factions of the Defeat the Invaders operations room. The factions are the Sham Corps, First Coast Division, Second Coast Division, First Infantry Division, Idlib Free Army, Second Army, Elite Army, Jaysh al-Nasr, Martyrs of Islam Daraya, Freedom Brigade and the 23rd Brigade.
In the recent months, the tension between the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) on the one hand and Free Syrian Army factions and residents on the other took place in the city, of which the HTS was trying to control. The residents organized demonstrations and protests against that.
