Islamist battalions announce killing 24 Syrian government forces members and officers in Northern Latakia

On Tuesday, Islamist battalions announced killing 24 officers and members of the Syrian government forces during an attack on their positions in Northern Latakia, Western Syria, in rejection of the Russian-Turkish demilitarization agreement in Northern, Central and Western Syria.
On Tuesday, the Islamist battalion operations room said on social media that it killed Syrian government forces members and looted a number of their medium weapons and mobile devices during an attack on their positions in al-Jabb al-Ahmar, Northern Latakia. The operations room includes three battalions, the most prominent of which is the al-Qaeda Guardians of Religion Organization.
Syrian government media said that the Syrian government forces foiled an infiltration attempt by armed groups on al-Jabb al-Ahmar, killing and wounding a number of them.
The Guardians of Religion Organization is an armed insurgent group affiliated with al-Qaeda in Idlib. The head of the group, Abu Humam al-Shami, was formerly a member of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the al-Nusra Front. The Guardians of Religion in Idlib are not confirmed to be connected with the organization of a similar name in Ghouta.
