Aleppo - SMART

On Saturday, the Salvation government, which operate in the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)-controlled areas, seized the al-Farabi pharmaceutical compound of Aleppo University in the village of Abad, south of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

The Syrian Salvation Government is an alternative Syrian government-affiliated with HTS, formed without an election at the end of November 2017. It has been seated within the Idlib Governorate since the HTS took control of the border and the internal crossings to be against the Interim Syrian Government.

A knowledgeable source reported that the Salvation Government seized the compound after the compound’s manager refused to implement the Salvation Government’s decision to employ people of its choice.

The source added that the compound manager offered the Salvation Government to supervise the compound’s work process, but the Government refused and decided to suspend work in it until they reach an agreement. No further information was reported.

The source mentioned that 80 students operate in the compound. This compound and the Abdul Aziz medical institute are the only medical institutes in the area.

The Ataa organization for Humanitarian Relief said that the Salvation Government seized the Ataa second compound in the town of Atma and resided armed people from Daraa and Quneitra in the compound.
