SDF ganis entire control of Hajin city, Deir al-Zor

On Wednesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) gained entire control of the city of Hajin,95 kilometers east of Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria, following clashes against the Islamic State (IS).
The Syrian Democratic Forces are mainly comprised of the Kurdish People's Protection Units in addition to Arab, Turkmen, and Assyrian/Syriac military factions. The SDF is supported by the United States-backed International Coalition against the Islamic State and fought them in al-Raqqa, Deir al-Zor, Aleppo, and al-Hasakah in Northeastern Syria.
A military source reported that fierce clashes erupted between the SDF and IS, leading to SDF’s gaining control of the Nabd al-Hayat hospital, the Personal Status Administration building and the court that are the last IS’ outposts in the city.
The source added that the IS members withdrew to the town of al-Shu’fa,112 kilometers east of Deir al-Zor and the villages of Abu Hasan and al-Kamsheh.
On Sunday, the SDF attacked Hajin from different directions, amidst fierce clashes. Following the clashes, the SDF gained control of the national hospital in the city.
The SDF attempts to expel the IS from its last enclave in Deir al-Zor. On Tuesday, the SDF gained control of most of the village of al-Baghouz al-Tahtani,120 kilometers southeastern Deir al-Zor, following days of clashes against the IS. The SDF has gained control of the Iraqi borderline.
