Infant dies of hypothermia in camp in Northern Idlib
Idlib - SMART
On Saturday, an infant died of hypothermia in a camp in Northern Idlib, Northern Syria.
The infant Maryam al-Hussain's father told SMART that he was unable to obtain heating devices for his family during the winter because of his low income. Hypothermia and malnutrition led to Maryam's death.
On Friday, administrative officials told SMART that two children died of hypothermia in the al-Rukban camp on the Syrian-Jordanian border.
Last year, a number of children in camps in the Idlib and Aleppo governorates in Northern Syria died of hypotermia amidst the lack of humanitarian and medical support.
