HTS and al-Zenki Movement faction fighters killed and injured in clashes, Western Aleppo

On Tuesday, clashes erupted between the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and the Nureddin al-Zenki Movement of the National Liberation Front in Western Aleppo, Northern Syria, killing and injuring fighters of both sides.
The HTS is an Islamist opposition faction previously known as the al-Nusra Front, consisting of fighting groups including the Haqq Brigade, Jabhat Ansar al-Din, and Jaysh al-Sunnah.
A source reported that 12 HTS injured fighters, including five critically injured, arrived at the Thawrat al-Karameh hospital in the second al-Muhandisin countryside area in Western Aleppo.
An unknown military source reported that the al-Zenki anti-armors group launched a TAO missile against an HTS armored vehicle, killing and injuring HTS fighters.
The source added that an Al-Zenki military commander, who is called Abu Ahmad Homs, was killed in the clashes on the perimeter of the city of Darat Izzah. The source noted that Al-Zenki fighters were injured. The source specified neither the number nor the medical status of the injured.
The HTS sent military reinforcements made up of a tank and two vehicles full of fighters to the perimeter of Darat Izzah. Clashes erupted between both sides on the perimeter of the village of Kafr Naha, blocking the roads leading to the village, according to local sources.
The HTS stationed in the Shamiko area shelled the Jam’iyet al-Kahrbaa area and the village of Khan al-’Asal, with no injuries reported.
Earlier on Tuesday, clashes erupted between the HTS and al-Zenki Movement fighters in Western Aleppo. The HTS attacked the area from the directions of the towns of Taqad, Khan al-’Asal, and Tirmanin. Both sides used light, medium, and heavy machine guns, killing two civilians and injuring six others, including two children. The clashes caused the residents of Taqad, Aynjara, and Qabtan al-Jabal to demonstrate against the HTS.
Frequent fierce clashes erupted between both sides in Aleppo and Idlib governorates 2018, killing and injuring dozens of fighters and civilians. Truce agreements marked the end of the clashes.
