People's Protection Units arrest IDPs from Deir al-Zor in al-Raqqa

On Wednesday, People's Protection Units arrested 12 internally displaced people IDPs from Deir al-Zor city in the al-Raqqa governorate, Northeastern Syria.

IDPs told SMART that the intelligence service of People's Protection Units arrested young people after they stopped eight families on the road between the city of al-Raqqa and the village of al-Kalta, Norther al-Raqqa.

The families did not know the reason for the arrest, but they said that the young men were taken to the investigation headquarters of the People’s Protection Units to follow up their security situation in coordination with the military council of Deir al-Zor.

On Tuesday, the intelligence service of the People’s Protection Units arrested two people in al-Raqqa on charges of dealing with Turkish intelligence service.
