Initial Response Team retrieves two bodies in al-Raqqa
Al-Raqqa - SMART
On Sunday, the Initial Response Team (IRT) of the al-Raqqa civil council retrieved two bodies in al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.
A source from the IRT told SMART that they retrieved the bodies of a woman and a child from the ruins of a destroyed building in the al-Bedo neighborhood. The team transferred the bodies to the Tal al-Baya'a cemetery.
Local residents were unable to identity the bodies, saying they were likely the bodies of displaced people from when the city of al-Raqqa was controlled by the Islamic State.
On January 12, 2019, the IRT retrieved 12 bodies from three neighborhoods in the city of al-Raqqa.
