Aleppo - SMART
A forcibly displaced child died from hypothermia in the city of al-Bab, 38 kilometers east of Aleppo, Northern Syria.
The media activist Muhammad al-Hamadi reported to the Aleppo Gate, which is one of SMART's media projects, that the child Muhammad Qasim Abdul Ghani Yaseen died this morning in the hospital of al-Bab after arriving on Friday with hypothermia.
Al-Hamadi added that the child was five months old and his family was forcibly displaced from the city of al-Mayadeen in Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria.
In 2018 and 2019, several children died from hypothermia in camps in Idlib, Aleppo and the al-Rukban camp in Homs due to the lack of food and medical care.
Earlier, UNICEF said that 15 forcibly displaced children, most of them infants, died from severe hypothermia in camps in Syria.
