Local council: “Syrian government forces bombings destroy 40 percent of al-Tih, Idlib”

On Friday, the local council of the town of al-Tih, 45 kilometers south of Idlib, Northern Syria, said that the Syrian government forces recent bombings.
Milad al-Ghajar, the head of the local council said that last week, the Syrian government forces intensified shelling on the al-Tih town ad on Thursday, the Syrian government forces shelled the town using 21 missiles, destroying 17 houses.
Al-Ghajar noted that 90 percent of the residents have evacuated al-Tih in the recent months. Al-Ghajar said that before the bombing campaign, 24,000 were living in the town. However, there are only from 8,000 to 10,000 families. Al-Ghajar added that 2 percent of the residents live in a shelter in al-Tih.
Al-Ghajar added that the obstetrics hospital in al-Tih stopped working temporarily for potential bombings; however, the attacks have not destroyed essential infrastructure facilities yet, except for civilians’ houses.
On Thursday, the Syrian government forces stationed in the village of al-Tama, southern Idlib, shelled al-Tih, injuring five civilians, including a child.
The Syrian government forces and Russia continue to bomb the Idlib governorate despite the Russian-Turkish agreement.
