Russian artillery shelling injures civilian in Kafr Zayta, northern Hama
Hama - SMART
On Saturday, a Russian artillery shelling injured a civilian in the city of Kafr Zayta near Hama, Central Syria.
Activists reported to SMART that Russian forces shelled residential neighborhoods in Kafr Zayta with heavy artillery shells from bases in the city of Soran, moderately injuring the young man Moaz Hamouiah, who was transported to a nearby medical center.
Syrian government artillery forces also shelled the villages of al-Sakher and Hasraya, destroying property, according to activists.
Earlier on Saturday, a Syrian government forces artillery shelling on the city of al-Lataminah and the village of al-Houayez killed six Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters.
The Syrian government and Russian forces continue to target Northern Syria although the area is included in the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement from Sept. 17, 2018. The agreement called to establish a demilitarized zone that separates the Syrian government-controlled areas from the areas controlled by the FSA and Islamist battalions in Idlib and northern Hama.
