Medical Office cuts ties with Free Aleppo Health Directorate, southern Aleppo
Aleppo – SMART
On Tuesday, the Medical Office in southern Aleppo cut its ties with the Free Aleppo Health Directorate after accusing it of not doing its job.
The Medical Office accused the directorate of lacking financial transparency, refusing to pay for vaccinations, not informing the office of the understandings about vaccination funding allocations, and failing to rehabilitate medical centers.
The office added that the health directorate attempts to marginalize the medical sector, letting individuals profit from medical projects, implementing organizations' agendas, and driving a wedge between medical bodies.
The office accused the health directorate of not committing to the rules of procedures and agreements with medical bodies, noting that that the office will approach a judicial court to reclaim its rights.
SMART contacted the health directorate for comments without response.
Earlier, the medical office in southern Aleppo urged humanitarian organizations to support medical clinics in the area.
Residents of southern Aleppo suffer amidst the lack of humanitarian support and the spread of diseases. The Syrian government forces and Russia continue to bomb the area, killing and injuring civilians.
