Syrian government forces commit massacre in Maarrat al-Nu’man , Idlib

On Tuesday, a Syrian government forces’ rocket and artillery shelling hit the city of Maarrat al-Nu'man, southern Idlib, Northern Syria, killing and injuring 36 civilians at an early count.
Obada Thikra, the head of the Civil Defense center in Maarrat al-Nu’man said that the Syrian government forces stationed in eastern Maarrat al-Nu; man shelled residential neighborhoods and street markets in the city, using 20 artillery and rocket missiles, killing 11 civilians, including a woman and two children. Thikra added that the shelling injured 25 other civilians most of them women and children.
The activist Baraa al-Razouk reported that the targeted locations do not include military headquarters, noting that Maarrat al-Nu’man is run by its local council that is a civil body.
On Monday, a Russian rocket shelling injured four civilians in the city of Kafr Nabl, southern Idlib.
The Syrian government forces and Russia continue to bomb Idlib, killing and injuring civilians despite the Russian-Turkish agreement in the area.
